Amanda is originally from Covington, Louisiana. She came to Raleigh 5 years ago to study Industrial Design at North Carolina State University after finishing her B.F.A. in Ceramics at Louisiana State University. With much model making to be had in I.D., Amanda periodically went back to clay to get a design from concept to object. Working in clay just seemed natural.
One year after graduating she found residence at Antfarm and is working on a line of ceramic home accessories. She is using slip casting as a means of production in this one person factory.
