Jeana Eve Klein
I have dabbled in a variety of fiber media over the years, from weaving to
printing to crochet to quilting. I have settled on quilting. My quilts
share only the barest of essential traits with the tradional craft technique.
I create my compositions with dyes rather than the traditional method of
piecing. By using dyes in a paint-like fashion on fabric, I am able to
achieve the detail of imagery I desire while maintaining the integrity of the
cloth for further manipulation. I tend to flit a bit when seeking
inspiration, but always return to common themes of travel, dreams, and the
all-important artistic sense of humor. The goal of my work is to both
fulfill my own creative needs while connecting with an audience, whether it
be to amuse or confuse.
